Did someone call for the tooth fairy?

Well it finally happened! She's had the wiggle tooth for a couple months and the adult tooth coming in behind dropping hints that the infamous day would come.

It all occurred on a sunny Sunday morning. It was basically hanging in their by a thin root thread. Kaylee was a little worried about it and had me hold her. Taylor was a little hysterical about the whole thing and had me hold her too. Michael took a paper towel and gave it a little tug. He made a face afterwards like he didn't get it and went in for another try, but then went "Aha!" and showed her her tooth. Kaylee kept asking me if it was the best Mother's day gift ever and I assured her that it indeed was. I told her I was proud of her being brave (only tears shed were from Taylor) and she told me that she was able to be brave, because I held her (Best Mom Ever Moment).

We interviewed the girls on video afterwards. Taylor was really upset and when Mike asked her if he could pull one of her teeth, she immediately clamped her hands over her mouth and cried out a muffled "NO!"

The tooth fairy made her debut Monday night, because I decided that she didn't work on Sunday. Kaylee woke up to some money & note under her pillow, along with being sprinkled with little flowers and glitter fairy dust (much to the dismay of the tooth fairy's husband). She was a little put out that the fairy dust didn't make her or Taylor fly, but otherwise very happy (I think she woke up earlier for that, then for Christmas morning). She was so happy, in fact, that she promptly went to the kitchen to grab a paper towel and then had Michael tug out the other loose tooth.

So.. the tooth fairy came back the next night to find another tooth and a note from Kaylee. The note asked the tooth fairy for REAL fairy dust so that she and her sister could fly & for 30¢ $$$$. She awoke to find some money and a note under her pillow. The note basically told her that fairy dust didn't make children or fairies fly, but in actuality it just made children tired and too much of it would make them sick (this was the tooth fairy's husband putting his foot down on any more fairy dust for subsequent teeth lost.. someone hates his dust!). Kaylee accepted this explanation and went about her day happy as can be.

Taylor meanwhile continued for a bit to tell Kaylee that her mouth was broken and it was dad's fault.

And now the second lost tooth...

  1. Yeah! I like that the tooth fairy doesn't work on Sunday. Katie had to have one of her teeth removed and since then she is always excited to see other people who have lost their teeth.
